As temperatures drop, now is the perfect time to protect your home from cold-weather damage.

A few simple steps can save you thousands in repairs:

✔ Insulate exposed pipes in basements, attics, and crawl spaces
✔ Let faucets drip slightly during extreme cold
✔ Seal drafts around windows and doors
✔ Disconnect outdoor hoses and shut off exterior water lines
✔ Keep your thermostat consistent, even when away
✔ Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air circulation

🚫Warning Signs of a Frozen Pipe.

Early detection can prevent a full-blown disaster. Watch out for:

✔ Little or no water flow from faucets

✔ Frost or condensation on exposed pipes

Gurgling or unusual noises when turning on faucets

If a pipe is suspected to be frozen, shut off the main water supply immediately and warm the pipe slowly, For example, by using a hair dryer. Never use an open flame, experts caution.
